Samsung is one of the most dominant smart phone manufacturers in the world. In the last few years, this brand has made notable strides in the mobile phone and tablet category with products like the Galaxy S III, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, and many more. I have always been a fan of Samsung products, and my latest purchase is the new Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone, a premium, high-end device that boasts of noteworthy features.
Design & Display: I am in awe of its impressively slim body (just 5.9mm) and the sturdy metal frame that looks great. The Samsung Galaxy A8 features a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display that makes it great for watching videos, playing games, and even web browsing. It offers great viewing angles, and perfect outdoor visibility.
Chipset: I trust Samsung smartphones when it comes to performance. The Galaxy A8 is a consistent and efficient performer. It is loaded with octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, clocked at 1.5 GHz, and backed by the Adreno 405 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. I haven't noticed any lag so far, but the device does have some heating issues during prolonged usage.
Camera: The A8 packs a 16MP primary camera and a 5MP front camera that does mostly well. The wide-angle front camera offers good selfies that will satisfy the selfie addicts. During the camera test, I've noticed lots of detailing in the image quality. The camera provides you pictures with accurate colour reproduction and white balance.
Battery: The Samsung Galaxy A8 houses a non-removable 3,050mAh battery which is good enough to last a little more than a day.
Security: The Galaxy A8 also features a fingerprint scanner, which is integrated into the physical home button on the front. This is one amazing feature that ensures the security of your phone.
Storage: The device has 32GB of internal storage which is expandable by up to 128GB, using a microSD card.
Verdict: The Galaxy A8 is the slimmest phone in the Galaxy series. Though a bit overpriced, this phone boasts of a supremely crafted display, packed with a powerful configuration and high-end camera. If you are looking for a premium-quality phone, go for the Galaxy A8!
