Oppo phones are very popular among music enthusiasts. They stand out in today's highly competitive smartphone market, and the reason being that Oppo agrees on 3 very important factors- the power of a great product, innovation and competitive pricing. The company’s latest smartphone, the Oppo R7 is my newest purchase. Thanks to my friend who suggested me to buy the new R7, this phone packs a lot of noteworthy features, along with good looks.
Design & Display: The Oppo R7 has got striking good looks. It packs premium design into a slim, luxurious metal package. The device is light-weight that makes it easier for me to hold and use it with one hand. The R7 has a 5-inch AMOLED display, along with a full-HD 1920x1080-pixel resolution. While it provides decent viewing angles, the prominent black bezel surrounding the lit panel too is noticeable at times. The display also offers perfect outdoor visibility.
Chipset: The Oppo R7 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, clocked at 1.5GHz and accompanied by 3GB of RAM. Performance wise, the R7 runs smooth, but gets sluggish while multi-tasking. The one thing I noticed is that Oppo has made some striking improvements with the new R7, when compared to its previous models. It's not the best handset in the market, but I'd rather say the Oppo R7 is a decent model in terms of performance.
Camera: The phone includes a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, but both are quite mediocre in performance when it comes to shooting high quality images. So, if you are purchasing the Oppo R7, don't keep high expectations from its camera.
Battery: The phone packs 2,320 mAh battery which is not good enough for me. This phone falls behind its competition when it comes to stay in power for long hours.
Storage: The phone comes with 16 GB expandable storage.
Verdict: The Oppo R7 has a few flaws, yet I'd say it is worth considering. It may not be an affordable option for all, but you certainly can't ignore its killer looks.
