Huawei's rise over the last few years has been something to behold. And now, the brand has set the bar very high with the introduction of the new Huawei Honor 7- a sleek and classy-looking smartphone that packs some amazing features. I came across this handset at a store recently and found it quite impressive. I'd like to share my views on the same:
Design & Display: The Huawei Honor 7 is an attractive device that boasts of a premium and sleek design. The phone is durable, sturdy and easy to grip. It features a 5.2-inch full-HD IPS-LCD (1080x1920p) screen, along with thin bezels. I am much in awe of its crisp and vibrant display that offers wide viewing angles. I watched a number of videos under bright sunlight but didn't face any visibility issue. Overall, the display looks quite decent to me.
Chipset: The device is powered by an octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor (2.2GHz quad-core+1.5GHz quad-core), Mali-T628 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Though the Honor 7 performs fine, it gets sluggish at times due to UI. However, performance wasn't flawless, but the impressive bit was that the handset doesn't get heated up over continuous use. The fingerprint scanner too was fast and accurate.
Battery: The Huawei Honor 7 comes with a 3100 mAh battery that did quite well. It lasted for 7 hours, and my battery test involved surfing web, making calls, watching videos and downloading apps. Overall, the battery life was good enough for me.
Camera: It packs a 20-megapixel primary camera with dual-tone flash and an 8-megapixel front camera with single-tone flash. The camera quality was quite good. I managed to shoot some sharp and bright pictures. But, images captured in low light weren't too good.
Storage: The device comes with 16GB/64GB of built-in storage options, which is expandable by up to 128GB with a microSD card.
Verdict: The Huawei Honor 7 manages to pack some really impressive and innovative features, at a very attractive price. The Honor 7 is quite likeable, thanks to its high-end camera and sophisticated design. I'd highly recommend it!
