The UAE-based smartphone brand, Injoo, known for its “affordable” range of smartphones had got us captivated so much that we could not resist checking out the company’s recent Fire 2 handset at a retail store in Dubai, UAE.
After using the smartphone for an entire day, the handset seemed an OK device, seemingly tailor-made for people looking at buying their first smartphones. USP of Injoo’s Fire 2 smartphone is its AED 350 price tag. Overall performance and experience were average considering its technical specifications.
Display: The Injoo Fire 2 features a 5-inch display and outer body frame that fits perfectly in one hand. The touchscreen incorporates the IPS mechanism that provides for clearer and wider viewing angles. Image rendering on the screen was also sharp considering the smartphone’s average technical aspects.
Processor, Memory and Internal Storage: Under-the-hood, the Injoo Fire 2 incorporates a quad-core CPU clocked at 1GHz. A 1GB RAM also complements the processor. During our testing, we found the Injoo Fire 2’s performance to be almost decent, had it not been certain minor performance lags during multitasking. Buyers get an internal storage of 8GB which is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card.
Camera: The Injoo Fire 2 features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front snapper. Quality of photos/images captured were decent, but not great.
Operating Platform and User Interface: The smartphone runs on Google’s Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating platform; it is not known if the smartphone would be eligible to receive Google’s more recent Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) as an OS update. As far as UI is concerned, the device offered smooth operation and navigation was also relatively hassle-free, save for minor lags that are not uncommon within budget smartphones.
Battery: A 2,800 mAh battery drives the Injoo Fire 2, and during our testing, the battery-life obtained was almost an entire day.
Verdict: The Injoo Fire 2 is a decent smartphone, that the first-time adapters would find exciting.
