Pixelbook is a foldable laptop introduced by Google. It runs on the ChromeOS and comes with support for Google Play Store. So, you have plenty of applications and games to choose from. Display and Design
The Pixelbook has a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Quad HD LCD display and has a pixel density of 235 PPI. The hinge can be rotated by 360° and therefore, you can use fold it to a tablet or make it stand up. It has relatively large bezels which help to hold it well in the tablet mode and overall gives a sharp appearance. The body frame is very narrow as it is the thinnest laptop from Google measuring only 10.3 mm. The body is made from aluminum unibody. The palm rest is covered in a material with grip and feels great, however, it's difficult to tell what extent it will keep up its unblemished color similar to the Surface laptop from Microsoft whose keyboard has a fabric texture. It also has advanced silicone pads around the glass trackpad. They offer comfort to your hands and protect the screen from getting keyboard marks. In addition, they help you to have a good grip while using the tablet mode to watch a movie or something. The keyboard is backlit, which is very useful for typing in the dark. Something else, Google has included a Google Assistant key, which rings the Google Assistant. It can detect the things on the screen and give extra information on request.
You can also use the Pixelbook Pen to select a particular region you need additional info on, such as doing a Google Search on some content or image. You can use this pen without even pairing over Bluetooth. It works based on advanced pressure and angle detection. The AAAA battery can power it for a year without the need for you to plug it into the device for charging.
The Pixelbook is powered by 7th generation Intel processors. There are two processor variants for users to choose from Core i5 and Core i7. There are also two RAM variants of 8GB and 16GB that takes care of your multitasking needs. You can play games, watch movies, browse the web and a lot more seamlessly without any lags in performance. The device has Solid State Drive storage with options ranging from 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. These specs are a major improvement over the previous Chromebook models and you might be wondering of its requirement. It will cover the running of intensive android apps with brute computing power. People can experience full-fledged versions of Adobe Lightroom and Snapchat soon rather than using only the beta version on their smartphones. Also, the app store will keep growing and you will need the storage space and memory moving ahead as well. However, there is no fingerprint scanner in the device. If you prefer, you can configure your android smartphone to unlock your laptop acting as a key. Also for pixel phone owners, the Pixelbook can directly activate tethering. The wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It has an HD camera which can record at 60 frames per second.What fuels the laptop is a 41 Whr battery that can keep the device running for up to 10 hours. It also supports fast charging with 2 hours of usage time by charging for 15 minutes and 7.5 hours while charged for an hour. The USB-C 45W adaptor can also be used to charge the Pixel phones. There are USB-C ports for charging on both sides. You will find the power button and the volume controls on the left side along with the 3.5mm headphone jack. For security, there is a TPM Chip which safeguards the device.
