Details of Sony A7III 24MP Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera
The Alpha A7 III is a well balanced and advanced full-frame mirrorless camera from Sony. It offers plenty of features that appeal to photographers. The Alpha A7 III has great imaging capabilities and swift performance enclosed in a compact body, giving you absolute means and power for capturing moments with utmost perfection and aesthetics.
Design and Usability
The Alpha A7 III confers its design from its higher-resolution sibling, the Alpha A7R III, which means it has the same refined control layout. There is an about 3 inches wide LCD display with a touch panel which can be used to view the images and it comes with quick navigation as well. The camera has a useful multi-selector joystick for better handling of the device. You can now choose AF point very easily. More in controls, you have a rear scroll wheel placed apart from the frame, with enough resistance to prevent unwanted toggling of settings.
Performance and Specifications
The resolution of the Alpha A7 III lies at the regular 24.2 MP. But what really changed is the image sensors and processors. The device features the new Exmor R CMOS sensor with a back-illuminated arrangement along with the advanced BIONZ X image processing engine. The new hardware combination is twice as much faster in data readout rate and 1.8 times in data processing capability. Also, the sensitivity range has been overhauled over the previous model: with an extended ISO value of 204,800, which is two stops better than the A7 II's 51,200 cap. Also, the 5-axis in-body image stabilization mode in the Alpha A7 III has improved, and now renders five stops of stabilization, comparing to the older 4.5 stops.
The Alpha A7 III offers excellent 4K video capture in 24p. It utilizes the full width of the wide angle sensor beside full pixel readout. It works by collecting about 6K of data (more than twice the amount required) and then oversampling to generate the 4K visuals with exceptional detail and depth. Furthermore, if one wants to record at 30p, the 1.2x crop option makes use of about 5K of the sensor. The Alpha A7 III proposes a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) profile that supports an Instant HDR workflow, allowing HDR (HLG) compatible TVs to play back 4K HDR footage. Users can also shoot Full HD footage you can do so at up to 120fps. For enhanced colour grading, the device takes benefit from both S-Log2 and S-Log3.
