Details of HTC U Play
The Taiwanese giant HTC has created ripples in the cell phone market. And now, it seems to have taken on its counterparts in the Middle East market too. Post the successful release of HTC One M9+ and HTC One E9+ and with an aim to diversify its smartphone portfolio, HTC is back with its new flagship phone- The HTC U Play. The HTC U Play is an expertly crafted and beautifully designed phone. The device "introduces a new, beautifully contoured, liquid surface that’s designed to reflect the best you".
Design and display: The HTC U Play features a 5.2” LCD panel at 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, making the screen sufficiently bright, vivid, and with more than enough pixel density for any task. This amazing display provides an immersive viewing experience without compromising on the comfort factor. It’s great for watching videos, playing games, and even web browsing.
From the design point of view, its "metallic edging gives way to a glossy rear which comes in a variety of colors, with blue and pink models standing out against the standard black and white versions". Overall, the HTC U Play looks sleek and gorgeous. There’s a notification LED above the screen and backlit Android navigation buttons flanking the home button, which has an integrated fingerprint sensor.
Processor and chipset: The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It performs really well and doesn’t suffer any lag in between. Users claim, the device is great for multi-tasking as well as playing games.
Camera: The HTC U Play packs the same front facing camera as the new Ultra, "a 16Mp shooter which can be switched into an UltraPixel mode. This means you can shoot high-resolution photos in good light. It also has a 16Mp camera at the rear, featuring an f/2.0 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), phase detection auto-focus and a dual-tone flash. Its "camera app interface is greatly simplified, with the most used modes and filters present with big fat buttons, and only a handful of settings hidden a menu deep". Users claim, daylight shots display a decent amount of detail, fair colour reproduction and when using the Auto HDR mode, decent dynamic range.
Battery and connectivity: The HTC U Play packs a 2500 mAh battery, which promises a run-time of 15 hours at a stretch under heavy usage. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, NFC, USB-OTG, GPS, and GLONASS. There’s no FM radio.
