The iPhone 8 plus is the larger version of the iPhone 8. It carries a 5.5-inch display and dual camera setup, similar to last year's iPhone 7 Plus. Under the hood is Apple's A11 Bionic processor and comes with wirelessly charging.
Design and Display
The display in the new iPhone 8 Plus consists of a IPS 5.5-inch diagonal Retina display with widescreen LCD Multi-Touch. The iPhone 8 Plus will be powered by an A11 Bionic chip with 64-bit architecture. It consists of 4 efficiency cores that are up to 70 per cent powerful than the A10 Fusion. Additionally, it has 2 performance cores that are up to 25 per cent faster. It will come power-packed with iOS 11 and Neural Engine Embedded M11 motion coprocessor. This chip is powerful enough to smoothly manage the AR functionality. iPhone 8 Plus will feature the next generation of Touch ID with face and/or iris scanning. It is also enabled with wireless charging. Apple is said to include its lightning connector in the iPhone 8 plus in place for the port USB-C. The phone will support the Apple Pencil.
Storage and Connectivity
Apple ditches its 32GB variant in favor of a 64GB and 256GB model, it is backed by 3 GB RAM. The new device also supports Wireless charging that works with Qi chargers. This makes the phone future proof. The iPhone carries an in built rechargeable lithium-ion battery and supports Charging through USB to the PC or power adapter. The device only supports Nano-SIM types. However, they do not support micro-SIM cards. There are also Accessibility features that assist people who need special care to use the iPhone easily. They can make use of the built-in support for vision, hearing, physical and motor skills, and learning and literacy for exploring their device. The glass back allows wireless charging with ease. The Headphones includes Ear Pods with Lightning Connector. The Apps in the device are engineered intelligently so that they consume fewer data.
Just like the iPhone 7 plus, the iPhone 8 plus has dual-cameras. New to the iPhone is two new sensors, 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto cameras with wide angle aperture of ƒ/1.8 and Telephoto ƒ/2.8 aperture. The device offers better portrait mode, swift autofocus. The camera does well in low light conditions. The speakers are also purportedly 27 percent louder than iPhone 7with deeper bass.
