Google launches video calling app Duo for Android and iOS

After unveiling the projects back in May, Google is finally ready to launch its free video calling app Duo on Android and iOS.

Duo allows you to make one-on-one video calls with anyone, regardless of what platform they use, through their phone number. Although it seems to be your regular run-of-the-mill video calling app, it does introduce a couple of new features like ‘Knock Knock’, which lets you see a live video snippet of your caller before you pick up.

Along with Allo, the smart messaging app, Google plans to dive into the market already dominated by the likes of Skype and Facebook Messenger. They have already announced that they intend to migrate Google Hangouts into the business platform.

The app is rolling out to users across the world over the next few days. You can find the app on Google Play and the App Store.
