Apple has finally lifted the curtains for the launch of the latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones in Dubai, and we have come here at the Mall of the Emirates to check out the large crowd and the new devices.
As you can see in the video, we had arrived early morning at 7:30AM. Many of the Apple loyalists out there had been waiting in front of the Apple Store since last night from 10PM. At 8:00AM, customers have started cheering and clapping on the launch of the new iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus smartphone, and the Apple employees started to allow each user to get into the store in a timely fashion. Ahmad Al Hajri was the first lucky iPhone 7 customer in Dubai.
While certain colors of the iPhone 7 devices were sold out ahead of launch, Al Hajra received his device thanks to the early preorders. That said, users are still able to place orders, which will take around three weeks for the new batches to arrive. The amount of customers who had come in the morning is reportedly estimated to be over hundreds, and long queue was finally cleared around 10:00AM.
The store was jam packed with customers trying out the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. We tried the new devices in person, and we have to say that the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus looks and feels almost the same as the previous iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
Despite the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack, the performance of the smartphone feels a lot snappier, thanks to the new quad-core Apple A10 processor. The new home button definitely gives a haptic feedback when pressed. The main camera portion has a slight bump which isn’t that bad. Moving forward to the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, the first thing we checked was the dual cameras on the rear. We tried both the wide angle and 2x-zoom mode of the main snapper. The quality of the iPhone 7/7 Plus camera samples appeared to be great at that moment, although we would want to compare the quality with other competitive flagship smartphones at a later time. We also got to check out the new black and jet black colors of the iPhone 7, which looked great too.
As for the prices, the Apple iPhone 7 cost AED 2599 for the 32GB model, AED 2999 for the 128GB model, and AED 3399 for the 256GB model. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus costs start from, AED 3099, AED 3499, and AED 3899 for the 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB, respectively.
