Samsung’s latest Galaxy A series (2017) features IP68 waterproofing, 16MP selfie camera and USB Type-C port

Samsung officially unwraps their latest Galaxy A series (2017) smartphones, which features a plethora of new features in a stylish and compact form-factor with a metal frame. The new smartphones also hold a 3D glass rear to provide the feel of a premium product.

Samsung also introduces the IP68 waterproof protection standard for the new devices, a first for the Galaxy A series. The new Galaxy A series will now come with USB Type-C port and fast charge support. Breaking down the models, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) smartphone features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD resolution. The device is powered by a 1.9 GHz octa-core processor with 3GB RAM/32GB storage, but with Android 6.0 OS. Both the front and rear cameras feature 16MP image sensors, and the battery has a capacity of 3000 mAh.

On the other hand, the bigger Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) shares similar specifications of the Galaxy A5 (2017), except that the Galaxy A7 (2017) holds a bigger 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen and a bigger 3600 mAh battery.

However, the smaller 4.7-inch Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) features a slower 1.6 GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The camera on the rear holds a 13MP image sensor and the front with an 8MP image sensor. This device also packs a 2350 mAh battery.
