While the Apple iPhone 8 launch is expected later this year, rumors suggest that the Cupertino company may bring forth new designs for the device. The latest information is that the iPhone 8 could feature a stainless-steel frame in between the front and rear glass panels.
This so-called “glass sandwich” design which has been confirmed by “sources from the upstream supply chain”. It must be noted that stainless steel has been used in the past for the Apple iPhone 4. What’s interesting is that Foxconn and Jabil who made the steel frames of the iPhone 4, will be manufacturing for the iPhone 8 as well.
Apple is expected to launch three iPhone devices this year, two of which will be the standard iPhone and Plus model, and one limited edition a with OLED display.
