Welcome back guys! We're back here on our next Weekly Feed that features the top tech news that you would have missed throughout the week.
And in smartphone news this week, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 4, the Redmi 4A and, my personal favorite the Mi Mix. The Redmi Note 4 is Xiaomi’s latest mid-range smartphone and the Redmi 4A is a budget smartphone for those of us who aren’t ready to break the bank. But if you do have a ton of spare change lying around, there’s always the Mi Mix.
This week, we launched our brand new youtube series called How to Buy. We take all the most frequently asked questions you guys send us when you want to buy products and take them straight to the brands themselves to see what they think. We’ll be starting off with headphones for our first season and our first episode with none other than Sony Middle East. Be sure to check it out and let us know how we can improve on it and make it even better.
Toshiba launched three products this week at a launch event in Dubai. There’s the FlashAir SD card which lets you send photos you shoot from your camera straight to your computer using Wifi. The Canvio for smartphones which lets you wirelessly charge and backup your android device. And the TransferJet which lets you transfer data between phones, PCs and even printers at 560 megabytes per second. Now that’s a lot. You can check out our full coverage of the event including an interview with Toshiba Gulf’s General Manager on your YouTube page.
It’s been a weird week for the Nintendo switch preorders. Geekay Games came out with their pre-order bundle for the Switch which includes two games for 2300 AED. Two days later, Virgin Megastores comes out with their bundle priced at 2,100 AED. Two hours later, Geekay Games cuts their price down to 2000 AED and throws in a free carrying case. Whether it’s community outrage or competitive pricing, what matters is that we’re getting a better deal. It’s strange that the Switch isn’t being sold as a standalone console because that’s what Nintendo wanted.
E-City launched their newly renovated store in Dubai Mall and we were there to see it all unfold. They’ve got a new layout now so their stores look pretty good. You can check out our full coverage of the launch on our YouTube page but be sure to go see it for yourself. Tell them Feedbaac.com sent you.
