TCL isn’t the only one who holds the license to manufacturer Blackberry smartphones. As it happens so, BB Merah Putih, the company that’s licensed to make Blackberry devices for the Indonesian market, has unveiled a mid-range smartphone called the Blackberry Aurora.

Stanly Widjaja, the VP of BB Merah Putih, stated that “is not only the first BlackBerry-branded device to ever be produced in Indonesia, but it is the first BlackBerry device in the world to be equipped with dual-SIM functionality". The smartphone is powered by the low-end Snapdragon 425 processor, surprisingly with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal capacity. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. There is a 13MP main camera on the rear side which also offers electronic aperture controls and an 8MP selfie snapper on the front side.

The device measures a thickness of 8.5mm and weighs 178g. It has a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. The Blackberry Aurora also packs a 3000 mAh battery. The price of the Blackberry Aurora in Indonesia is said to be IDR 3,499,000 (AED 954). However, there is no word yet on the availability of this device in international markets, or whether TCL will also make their own version of the device for the UAE market.
