Dubai never fails to surprise us when it comes to innovations and technologies. The latest news from the Dubai Media is that the city will have a driverless automated transport system that will bridge the gap between the upcoming lifestyle destination called the BlueWater Islands and the Dubai Metro.

The new system will be capable of transporting 5000 passengers between the Island and the Dubai Metro. The system is said to be the largest of its kind in the world. The project has been awarded to a mobility solutions company called 2getthere. Carel van Helsdingen, the CEO of 2getthere, commented that the new automated systems will encourage the public to visit the BlueWater Islands.

The new project is also a part of Dubai’s goal to make over 25% of their transport systems automated by 2035. The new islands will be located near the coast of Jumeirah Beach Resistance (JBR) and near Dubai Marina.
