Earlier this week, Blizzard announced a special treat for StarCraft fans. A remastered version of the classic StarCraft along with its expansion StarCraft: Brood War.
The StarCraft remaster is something Blizzard didn’t advertise in a major way, but there were rumors and hints around the internet preluding to it. The new StarCraft remaster basically improves everything except the actual core gameplay, even including a 4K resolution option.
“StarCraft® Remastered upgrades the essential sci-fi strategy experience from beginning to end. Welcome back to the original game and its award-winning expansion, StarCraft: Brood War.
We’ve remastered our units, buildings, and environments, improved game audio, and broadened our supported resolutions. Illustrated interludes bring the struggles and victories of heroes like Artanis, Fenix, Tassadar, Raynor and Kerrigan to life like never before. Most importantly, the strategy gameplay that StarCraft perfected years ago remains unchanged.”
Starcraft Remastered will be launching this summer for PC and Mac platforms, with Blizzard yet to provide a price for the package.
