Apple unveils the Siri-powered HomePod smart speaker

By Team Feedbaac
Apple finally gets their own smart speaker assistant.

The rumors and predictions of Apple’s Amazon competitor were right. Apple has officially debuted the Siri-powered speaker called the HomePod. Apple says the HomePod is a combination of smart speaker technology and sound quality.

The HomePod features a circular design with a seamless mesh material, seven beam-forming tweeters, a powerful woofer and a multi-channel echo cancellation system with real-time acoustic modeling. The speaker itself is driven by an Apple A8 processor and the HomePod is capable of scanning the space surrounding the speaker so that it can optimize the audio accordingly.

Users will be able to ask the speaker to play anything from your Apple Music library with phrases such as “play more songs like that”, “I like this song” and more. Of course, you can also ask for the latest news headlines, the current weather, sports status and other queries to Siri. If users own the HomeKit-enabled devices, then they can control the lights, opening of garage doors, air conditioning systems and more.

Users can also pair multiple HomePods and play from different rooms. While there isn’t any news of the release of HomePods in the UAE, the device will first be available in the US for $349. Colors include white and space gray.
