After months of speculation, Chinese company OnePlus has finally confirmed the reveal date for its highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 5. The company also officially teased the final image of the OnePlus 5 smartphone and it looks like the device holds a dual-lens camera.
According to an invite sent to its newsletter subscribers, OnePlus will host the announcement on June 20. The event will be live streamed across the internet, following which, the company will organize a number of individual events around the world to showcase the device.
The invite, as well as the special landing page for the phone, has the text, “Focus On What Matters” written on it, which suggests that the OnePlus 5 might carry dual cameras on the rear, and will have some sort of a special refocus or background blur feature that we may not know anything about yet.
OnePlus has been quite tight-lipped about its new flagship phone, however that hasn’t stopped rumors to seep through. Source code on the Amazon India’s teaser page for the OnePlus 5 reveals that the phone will sport a Snapdragon 835 CPU running at 2.35Ghz and 8GB of RAM. Also, a leaked image earlier in the year showcased a device with a design very familiar to the iPhone 7 Plus. Finally, OnePLus CEO Pete Lau had shared a picture from the OnePlus 5, demonstrating its incredible low-light photography capability. Keen eyed users quickly extracted the picture’s metadata to reveal that the phone will carry a 16MP sensor.
