Honor 9 gets officially launched, features dual cameras and Kirin 960 processor

The successor of the Honor 8 smartphone comes with a faster processor, more memory and dual-lens camera on a gorgeous chassis.

Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, has unveiled their latest product called the Honor 9, featuring powerful hardware, a vibrant display and the latest Android 7.0 operating software. The Honor 9 is the direct successor of the Honor 8 smartphone.

The device is powered by the Kirin 960 processor, the same chip that’s used on the Mate 9 and the Huawei P10 smartphone. The RAM is 6GB with the Honor 9 and users will have an option to buy the 64GB or 128GB storage model. You can also expand the memory with MicroSD card, thanks to the hybrid SIM card slot.

The Honor 9 also features a dual-lens camera configuration, one with a 12MP image sensor and other with a 20MP sensor. The main camera holds a 2x optical zoom lens with special modes for good portrait shots and bokeh effects. The device also has an 8MP camera on the front. The battery holds a capacity of 3200 mAh battery. The display is 5.15-inches in size and features a 1080p resolution with the vibrant DCI-P3 color profile.

The Honor 9 has a metal body with a glass rear panel. The smartphone will come in Grey, Blue and Amber Gold colors. While there is no word yet on its availability in the UAE, the Honor 9 is scheduled to hit the stores in China on June 16. The price is $400 (AED 1496) for the 64GB iteration and $440 (AED 1616) for the 128GB model.
