LG’s latest flagship series gets a serious memory boost, next-gen authentication and wireless charging, but with the same processor and screen size.

While the rumored V30 smartphone is months away from announcement, LG has officially announced a new version of its flagship smartphone called the LG G6+. The new smartphone comes with upgraded memory features and facial recognition.

The LG G6+ comes with 6GB RAM as opposed to the 4GB RAM in the original LG G6 smartphone. Despite the “+” branding, the LG G6+ retains the same 5.7-inch QHD+ display and the same rounded corners and bezel-less design. The processor remains the same Snapdragon 821 processor, so this could be a disappointment for those who were hoping for the Snapdragon 835 CPU. The dual 13MP camera and the fingerprint scanner sits on the rear side and the device features a large 3300 mAh battery. That said, the LG G6+ gets the wireless charging capability.

LG also implemented its Face Print feature on the LG G6+ smartphone that does the job of facial recognition, just like what we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone. It isn’t clear if LG is planning to release the LG G6+ smartphone to the UAE market. The price of the LG G6+ is yet to be announced.
