LG Q6 reportedly features a Snapdragon 430 and not a high-end CPU

It wasn’t long ago when Evan Blass tipped about the rumors of a new LG G6 Mini, or what is believed to be called as the LG Q6. While many would hope that the mini version might come with the latest processor, a GeekBench data entry reveals the possibility that the smartphone may feature the Snapdragon 430 chip.

Evan Blass did mention that the device would come with 3GB RAM and a smaller 5.4-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. The GeekBench entry also reveals that the RAM is the same, although, it’s not confirmed yet if this is the LG Q6. The device in the entry also has the codename LG-M700. The smartphone also appears to be running on Android 7.1.1 operating system also.

If this is the real deal, then it would be a disappointment for those who were expecting a Snapdragon 821 processor on a small-sized flagship smartphone. Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy S8 Mini, which is also rumored to feature a smaller display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. While both the LG Q6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini may, or may not come with a high-end CPU, Sony is reportedly preparing to launch the Xperia XZ1 Compact smartphone that is believed to come with the high-end Snapdragon 835 processor.

This will probably leave Sony as the only smartphone maker to build small-sized flagship smartphones with high-end hardware. The Xperia XZ1 Compact is rumored to be launched along with the Xperia XZ1 and the Xperia X1 smartphone at the IFA 2017. The LG Q6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Mini may be launched at the same time.
