After some of the rumors of the LG G6 mini, LG has finally lifted the curtains of their latest series smartphones, namely the LG Q6, the LG Q6a and the LG Q6+. While these devices come with the same and display size, they differ in the internal memory capacity and RAM.
All the three smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 435, an octa-core processor that runs at 1.4 GHz. This confirms that the earlier leak was legit. The display is 5.5-inches in size with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 and the aspect ratio is 18:9 with thin bezels. This means the smartphone has a smaller size while the screen appears to be large. It’s the same design logic that’s used in the LG G6. The device weighs 149 grams and the thickness is 8.1mm. The three new LG devices also run on the latest Android 7.1.1 operating system. The battery for all the three Q6 smartphones holds a capacity of 3000 mAh.
The camera on the rear features a 13MP image sensor. It’s quite unfortunate that the device didn’t come with a dual-lens camera configuration. That said, the front-facing camera is 5MP with a wide-angle lens. Users will also be able to use the facial recognition with the new devices. The main camera also features the ‘Steady Record’ software stabilization for video recording. The LG Q6 series also gets some of the special camera modes such as the Square Camera mode for your social media application profile pictures.
As for the differences between the three smartphones, the LG Q6a features 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, the Q6 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, and the Q6+ with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The LG Q6+ will come in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Marine Blue colors. The LG Q6 will come in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Mystic White, and Terra Gold. The LG G6a will be sold in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Terra Gold colors.
While the new smartphones were announced, LG did not specify the official pricing of the LG Q6, LG Q6a and the LG Q6+ devices. However, the company did state that the new devices will hit the stores in Asia, starting in August, following with the release in Europe, Latin America, and North America. The UAE availability of the LG Q6 series is not known for now.
