Rumor has it that Xiaomi has signed a deal with Samsung for the supply of curved OLED panels, which could lead to the fact that Xiaomi may be preparing to unveil a new OLED smartphone sometime this year or in 2018. While there is no information on the identity of the OLED smartphone, there were rumors in the past that Xiaomi is working on the Mi7 that may likely feature a 6-inch display that may be supplied by JDI. However, Samsung’s 6-inch OLED panel is curved and may be used for another device, and we guess it could be the successor to the Xiaomi Mi MIX device with an all-screen edge-to-edge design. Xiaomi is also expected to receive shipments of the OLED panel from December onwards with the production of over 1 million units and then another 2.2 million OLED panels on the following month. It was also reported that Xiaomi tried to bag a deal with LG for the supply of OLED screens, but was canceled due to a delay in the construction of new production plants. Click here to read more.
