While Apple iPhone 8 rumors have been going strong, there have been talks about a successor of the iPhone SE that many users wish to see. Recently, an analyst who goes by the name as Pan Jiutang, claimed that the iPhone SE would mostly be the last 4-inch iPhone to be ever released and suggested to buy it before it gets discontinued. But, that may not be the case as a French website called iGeneration claims that there will indeed be a new version of the iPhone SE and it will launch sooner than expected.
iGeneration claims that their sources report the opposite of what the analyst predicted and said that the new smartphone would be launched by the end of August. We must also remember that Apple is also expected to unveil the new iPhone 7S, the iPhone 7S Plus and the new iPhone 8 smartphones on September. So, it appears that the new iPhone SE 2017 would be announced just a few weeks before the main event.
The interesting part is that iGeneration reports of the iPhone 8 launch have been pushed to October. This will certainly keep the launch events of different phones with a good amount of gap. It's odd that Apple has reportedly pushed the iPhone 8 date all the way to October because Samsung is expected to be unveiling the anticipated and long-awaited Galaxy Note8 by 23rd August.
Regarding the specifications, there is no word on the type of hardware that could be used in the new iPhone SE. Readers should take this rumors with a pinch of salt because there is still not enough solid evidence that such a device is actually being made. None of the trusted and reliable sources have made any comments yet on the existence of an Apple iPhone SE successor.
That said, the present Apple iPhone SE features similar specifications as the iPhone 6 (the same processor and camera) in a smaller chassis. We could very well guess that the new iPhone SE could follow the same and borrow the same processor and camera from the Apple iPhone 7. It makes sense for Apple to do so because they are on the verge of unveiling the Apple iPhone 7S series.
Meanwhile, the Apple iPhone 8, or whatever it may be officially called, is said to feature an OLED panel with thin bezels for a larger screen estate and the fingerprint scanner could be embedded within the display. However, there were reports that the device may come with a 3D facial recognition instead of a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is also rumored to feature a dual-lens camera, along with water resistance and wireless charging.
