Lenovo, the company that owns Motorola, has officially unwrapped the latest Moto Z2 Force Edition smartphone that will be released in the Middle East later in summer.
The device now packs a 5.5-inch Quad HD POLED display with a shatter resistant coating. For further protection and resistance, the chassis of the smartphone is made out of the reinforced 7000 series aluminum build.
The smartphone that runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone also features Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC wireless connectivity. Additionally, the smartphone also comes with the latest 802.11ac WiFi standards for high-speed internet streaming. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the device but users can make use of the USB Type-C port with an adaptor for connecting wired headphones. The battery of the Moto Z2 Force holds a capacity of 2730 mAh, which is kind of lower than the 3500 mAh battery of the previous generation. Users will be getting the same 15W Turbo Charger for Fast Charge support.
The Moto Z2 Force now packs dual-lens camera on the rear with 12MP image sensors for each and with an aperture of f2.0. One of the sensors are meant to capture full color images and the other is to snap monochrome shots. You can also use both the dual-lens together to create a shallow depth of field effect. The depth of field sensor is featured on the monochrome camera. The camera also features phase detection autofocus for fast focusing along with laser AF and Optical Image Stabilization. OIS will help to reduce the shakes and blurs that can happen while shooting a picture or recording a video. There is also a 5MP front camera with an aperture of f2.2.
Motorola also unveiled the 360 Camera Moto Mod that can record videos at 360-degrees in 4K and 3D audio. The recorded videos can be edited within the Moto Z2 Force and also live streamed at will.
The Moto Z2 Force is expected to reach the UAE retail stores later in the summer time. However, we have still yet to confirm the official launch dates and pricing. That said, the 360 Moto Mod for the Moto Z2 Force is priced at $299 (Approx. AED 1098). We will let you know once the details are out.
