Nokia 8

With Nokia getting ready to announce their flagship smartphone on August 16th, several rumors and press renders have already been leaked regarding its design and specifications. While we do know that the Nokia 8 will be a good camera smartphone, the latest reports indicate that the device may feature a 13MP selfie camera.

If the rumor is legit, then we are looking at a flagship that has great cameras on both the front and rear without any compromise. While there isn’t much information available whether the 13MP will come with a wide-angle lens and at what aperture, the word is it that the rear camera will consist of a dual-lens configuration and with 13MP cameras each. One of the sensors will be based on RGB and the other is a monochromatic image sensor. The best part is that the lens will mostly be from ZEISS. HMD Global and ZEISS recently signed a deal to supply advanced smartphone camera technologies for future Nokia smartphones. This is certainly a big deal and will put the upcoming Nokia flagship to go head on with the big brand in the market, and Nokia 8 appears to be the first to receive the ZEISS treatment.

The smartphone is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 chip with 4GB RAM, and the internal storage is 64GB with an option to be expanded further with a MicroSD card. It's not evident yet that HMD Global will ship the Nokia 8 with Android 7.0 Nougat or the upcoming Android 8.0. Rest assured, if it isn’t the latter, the company will roll out Android O updates in the near future. HMD Global recently hinted that they will be releasing the updates for the existing Nokia smartphones.

The Nokia 8 is also hinted to feature a 5.3-inch display. Although, the latest legit press image leaks show that Nokia isn’t going for a thin-bezel design for more aspect ratio. Perhaps they will implement such a design for future flagship devices. In the contrary, Samsung and LG, who are getting ready to unveil the Galaxy Note8 and LG V30, will be featuring large displays and thin bezels with 18:9 aspect ratio. That said, the resolution of the screen on the Nokia 8 is said to be 1440 x 2560.

There isn’t any word on when the Nokia 8 will launch in the UAE. That said, expect the smartphone to be available later in September. Rumors suggest that the Nokia 8 is expected to be priced at 520 Euros, that’s approx. AED 2242. We will update you once the Nokia 8 is officially launched.
