The alleged successor of the Xiaomi Mi Mix is said to have a design with screen bezels that can’t be seen at all and will give a tough competition towards the likes of Samsung and Apple.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Render

Smartphones with bezel-less designs are slowly becoming the new trend of the market, and while the upcoming Apple iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy Note8 would be featuring such a design, a leaked render of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 hints that Xiaomi wants to stay ahead in the competition in terms of smartphone design.

The render comes straight from the reliable smartphone leaker Benjamin Geskin, who posted the picture on his twitter account. While the smartphone does look like the current Mi Mix in some ways, the screen in the render appears to be gorgeous and certainly better looking than the leaked renders of the Apple iPhone 8 and the Galaxy Note8 that we all have seen till date. The bezels are really so thin in such a way you can’t see the front facing camera that sits at the bottom side of the display. The bottom side is the only place where there is a little presence of some bezel area and its way thinner than the first Mi Mix.

The screen is said to sport a 6.4-inch panel of AMOLED goodness and the resolution is rumored to hit at 2540 x 1440. Imagining such a large and bezel-less AMOLED display is something that most of us would dream to have. Meanwhile, the Mi Mix 2 is rumored to hold the Snapdragon 835 chipset and with 6GB RAM, according to recent GeekBench entries. The camera on the Mi Mix 2 may feature a 19MP image sensor. However, the render showcases a vertically aligned dual-lens setup as the current model, so it may be likely be using a pair of 19MP image sensors.

That said, we guess that the 19MP cameras may be the same as the ones used in the latest Sony Xperia XZ Premium smartphone. But hey, that’s just our speculation. Other features expected of the Mi Mix 2 is a large 4500 mAh battery. There aren't any more rumors of the device with regards to the internal specifications. However, the smartphone is rumored to be released in the middle of September and is allegedly priced at CNY 4999 (approximately AED 2752).

Xiaomi recently opened their first-ever official Mi Store at the BurJuman Shopping Mall in Dubai, and also launched two new smartphones for the region. One is the flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 and the other is the budget-friendly Mi Max 2. The Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch IPS screen with boasting FullHD resolution, and the device has the latest Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB RAM. Android 7.1.1 operating system runs on both the new smartphones. However, the Mi Max 2 has a larger 6.44-inch IPS display, also boasting FullHD resolution, and is powered by the power efficient Snapdragon 625 processor. The Xiaomi Mi6 is priced at AED 1499 and the Mi Max 2 for AED 969.
