Samsung has returned to the premium phablet category with the launch of the Galaxy Note8 smartphone at the Unpacked event, held in New York. The smartphone now features the 6.3-inch Infinity Display with an Super AMOLED screen. The aspect ratio is 18:5:9 and the screen offers Quad HD+ resolution. The Note8 is 8.6mm thick and weighs 195g. The new dual-lens camera on the rear features a 12MP telephoto lens and another Dual Pixel 12MP lens for wide-angle shots. The front camera of the device contains an 8MP sensor. The Galaxy Note8 is powered by the Exynos 8895 Octa processor and the device now comes with 6GB RAM. Internal storage is 64GB with MicroSD card expansion. While we have already seen a lot of rumors regarding the iPhone 8, the latest report comes from a trusted analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, suggesting that the device will come with 3GB RAM. He also mentioned that the iPhone 7s Plus is also planned to be equipped with 3GB RAM. However, the Apple iPhone 7s will only have 2GB RAM. Kuo also suggested that the 64GB flash memory for the iPhone 8 is said to be manufactured by SanDisk, one of the leading memory card makers. The smartphone is also rumored to come with an all-screen OLED display and the panel will be produced by Samsung. The smartphone could be featuring support for wireless charging and the dual-lens cameras are said to be capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps. Google has announced that the next version of Android 8.0 will be codenamed Oreo. The Mountain View company had called the new version as Android O in the past. The new update is expected to be available for most of the major smartphones in the market. Android 8.0 Oreo comes with loads of performance and battery-life improvements, as well as new ways to use notifications and more. The Improving the battery use involves limiting the amount of background work that’s being done in the device so that a lot of power is not consumed. The new notification dots allow users to simply swipe upwards without opening the application. The new picture-to-picture mode allows users to use other applications while making video calls. Android Oreo will also be protected with the new Android Protect, that scans for malicious apps in the Google PlayStore. At the Gamescom 2017 event, Microsoft announced the special edition Xbox One X “Project Scorpio” and is priced at the same price as the standard Xbox One X version. The new console basically gets a special packaging that showcases a glimpse of the original Xbox. The console receives a new custom color and also features the “Project Scorpio” typeface on the console and controller (in green color). Meanwhile, Geekay Games has put up a page for Xbox One X Project Scorpio, where you can add your email address and mobile number to receive notifications for the console’s availability. While many smartphone companies are beginning to release more and more near bezel-less smartphones, the latest rumors indicate that Xiaomi is preparing to launch the MI MIX 2 with super-thin bezels that could give Samsung and Apple a run for their money. A leaked render from Benjamin Geskin, a reliable leaker for upcoming smartphones. The screen appears to be taking most of the front-facing estate and there is only a very thin bezel on the bottom of the device. The size of the screen is expected to be 6.4-inches in size and the company may use an AMOLED panel, and the screen resolution is said to be 2560 x 1440.
