At the Rixos Premium Dubai Hotel in JBR, Samsung Gulf Electronics has officially introduced the highly-anticipated Galaxy Note8 phablet to the UAE region. Samsung Gulf Electronics also announced that they broke the Guinness World Record for the World’s Biggest LED Structure with digital signage, engulfing the Burj Park in Downtown Dubai.
The launch event brought in most of the popular GCC personalities and achievers to showcase how the Note8 helps to do bigger things, including popular celebrity Radio and TV presenter Kris Fade, Creative Director and Entrepreneur, Mimi Le Blanc and Engineer Dina Sharif.
“The Galaxy Note8 is designed for the way consumers lead their lives and lean on technology today. We appreciate the great passion of our Note users. Hence, we came up with an innovation for those doers who want to think big and do big,” said Tarek Sabbagh, Head of IT & Mobile (IM) Division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. “With the latest features including the Infinity Display to the enhanced S Pen and a powerful Dual Camera, the Galaxy Note8 lets people do things that they never thought was possible!”
Additionally, the new Galaxy Note8 also offers users with “Samsung Members” – a preloaded app package that offers experiences linked to Gulf based consumers’ passion points, via a new partnership with Marriott International Middle East & Africa and Cleartrip. Consumers who purchase the Galaxy Note8 in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain can enjoy the exclusive “Samsung Members” offers from Marriott hotel, restaurants and spas and Cleartrip.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note8 features the biggest screen ever on the history of Note devices, and yet, its narrow body makes it surprisingly comfortable to hold by one hand. The size of the Super AMOLED display is 6.3-inch with Quad HD+ resolution, and the Infinity Display with fewer bezels brings in an 18:5:9 aspect ratio. This means you get more screen estate without the device is bigger. The Galaxy Note8 is the ultimate multitasking smartphone to watch movies or photos, read or browse, write or draw, and the new App Pair feature lets you simultaneously launch two applications with ease.
The Galaxy Note8’s defining features is the new enhanced S Pen that offers new ways to write, draw, and interact with the phone and communicate with friends and family. It has an improved tip and pressure sensitivity with new features that enable users to express themselves in ways that no other stylus or smartphone can do. While users travel to other countries, the improved S Pen Translate feature lets you hover over the text of the foreign language to quickly translate the language or instantly convert units and foreign currencies.
The Galaxy Note8 is the first flagship from Samsung to come with two 12MP rear cameras and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for both the sensors. One of the sensor handles wide-angle shots and the other for telephoto shots. For more DSLR-like effects, the Galaxy Note8 now offers a new Live Focus feature, that lets you control the depth of field to adjust the bokeh effect in preview mode and after you take the photo. The wide-angle lens also comes with the Dual Pixel technology for with rapid auto focus. This allows users to capture sharper and clearer shots, even in low-light environments. The Galaxy Note8’s industry-leading 8MP Smart AF front-facing camera is excellent for sharp selfies shots and video calls.
The Galaxy Note8 includes the new Bixby AI, Samsung’s latest solution for a smarter way to use your phone. The UI learns from the user and improves over time to get the work done better. For security, the Note8 not only features a fingerprint scanner on the rear side that next to the dual-lens camera, and there is also an iris scanner on the front side.
The smartphone and the new S-Pen also features IP68 dust and water resistance, so you can take the device deep under 1.5m for about 30 minutes of duration and record video or capture images underwater while going for adventures, the beach, water parks or in your own swimming pool.
The new phablet is powered by the powerful Exynos 8895 Octa core processor and armed with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM on-board for the best multitasking experience. The device also features 64GB of internal storage and an option to expand using a MicroSD card. The battery in the smartphone holds a capacity of 3300 mAh and supports fast charge with USB 3.1 Type-C port and wireless charging with a compatible charger.
Samsung has also added its new Dual Messenger feature that allows users to add two different accounts for all social media applications, such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Skype and so forth.
