At the Dubai Mall Star Atrium, Samsung officially launched their latest generation of smart wearables that includes the Gear Sport smartwatch, the Gear Fit2 Pro fitness tracker, and the Gear IconX wireless earbuds. The new wearables are designed for users who want it to take it to the extreme level of fitness workouts while keeping track of your fitness progress and the new smartwatch also comes with a slew of new features.

While it may not be the successor of the Gear S3 series, the new Gear Sport is aimed to be a smartwatch for sports and swimming sessions. The device is designed to be wearable for both men and women alike, and it comes in 42mm and weighs 50g. The circular, 1.2-inch, Super AMOLED display is surrounded by the rotating bezel that’s similar to the previous Tizen smartwatches. The device is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The Gear Sport features a real-time heart rate sensor, GPS, integrated WiFi and Bluetooth transmission. The internal 300 mAh battery is designed to be wirelessly charged. The smartwatch also features 5ATM of resistance, which means that the device is capable of resistance 50m of depth pressure, and with the MIL-STD-810G certification, the device can resist pool, salt water, sand, dust, UV, and shock.
The new Gear Fit2 Pro, which is the better version of the Gear Fit2, also features 5ATM resistance and MIL-STD-810G, and holds a curved 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3. The tracker is powered by a dual-core chip with 512MB of RAM. Then Gear Fit2 Pro also comes with a real-time heart rate sensor, GPS, Bluetooth, and WiFi. The battery capacity is 200 mAh.
The latest wireless earbuds are the Samsung Gear IconX (2018), featuring a battery life that can last up to 5 hours of Bluetooth streaming or up to 4 hours of talk-time. Each of the earbuds houses an 82 mAh battery and weighs 8g each. Users will be able to control with gesture-based actions by using the capacitive control surface. With a simple tap and hold, users can use their voice to control the music or the smartphone.There is also the special case that has its own 340 mAh battery. Charging the IconX with the case for just 10 minutes will give users about 1 hour of music playback for workouts.
The Samsung Gear Sport is available in blue and black and is priced at AED 1,199. The Samsung Gear IconX 2018 is available in Gray, Pink and Black and priced for AED 699, whereas the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro will come in red and black colors for the price of AED 699. The three new Samsung Fitness Wearables will be available at all the major retailers in the UAE from 26th October 2017.
