Study: Middle East will be one of the largest smartphone markets in the coming years

According to a brief study by GSM Association, Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait will achieve the ranks as one of the largest smartphone markets of the world. Currently, countries such as China, US, and India stand as the top markets for smartphones.

While it’s already predicted that India will surpass US for the 2nd position, new study reveals that smartphone usage and mobile services in the Middle East, and certain African countries will triple in the next few years. Over 350 million subscriptions are expected from the 199 million count of 2014.

It’s no surprise as popular smartphone makers such as Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola, Huawei, and others are now selling high-end smartphones, and budget level models with better performance, impressive cameras, larger storage, and other new features and gimmicks.
