The Redmond company's most powerful game console is here in the UAE that provides gamers with the performance that's similar to a gaming PC. It's the only console that's capable of delivering true 4K gaming experiences.

Xbox One X UAE launch

After the unveiling of Microsoft’s latest 4K gaming console at E3 2017, the Xbox One X is now officially available for purchase across all major stores in the UAE. The Xbox One X is touted to be the world’s most powerful console and is designed to compete against the beefed-up Sony PlayStation 4 Pro.

The machine features hardware that exceeds the prowess of Sony’s latest console in terms of power of and performance. The console is claimed to have 40% more power than the existing next-gen consoles in the market for a true 4K gaming experience, thanks to its new AMD APU that features eight cores, clocked at 2.3 GHz. That said, the main selling point is the graphics memory, that is bumped up to 12GB GDDR5, and the new GPU is claimed to feature a performance of 6 TFlops at 326GB/s. (The Sony PS4 Pro can do 4.2 TFlops of computing throughput).

The Xbox One X also comes with a 1TB hard drive and the company says that games will run faster on the system. To cool the system, Microsoft has also integrated a liquid cooling solution in a supercharger-style centrifugal fan to ensure that the game console stays cool at all times. The console also provides connectivity options such as the HDMI 2.0b port output that supports 2160p at 60Hz, one HDMI 1.4b input, 3 USB 3.0 ports, S/PDIF, Ethernet port, IR out, and power supply input. Surprisingly, the console also brings support for AMD FreeSync based monitors and there is also support for HDR 10. Audio enhancements include DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1 True HD with Atmos and PCM 2.0, 5.1 and 7.1 channels.

Another game changer is the inclusion of the 4K UHD Blue-Ray player on the Xbox One X, something that the Sony PS4 Pro lacks. At the Virgin MegaStore, the officials placed two different Xbox One X consoles running the latest Forza 7 racing game title, where one of the consoles had the 4K Xbox One X patch installed and the other didn’t have it. We could clearly see that the console with the game patch looked much better with improved textures that are very noticeable. Most of the Xbox exclusives and other 3rd party titles will be receiving the 4K update to make full use of the Xbox One X performance.

Microsoft also introduced the Xbox One X Scorpio Edition, which is basically the same console with the engravings on the front side and on the controller. The SE edition also receives a slightly grayish color treatment. For those who are wondering, Scorpio Edition is the name given for the project when the Xbox One X was being developed. The Microsoft Xbox One X is now priced for AED 1899 in the UAE.
