While HTC tries to compete with the likes of Apple and Samsung, their latest smartphone called the HTC U12+ is a flagship device sporting a dual-lens camera. The smartphone’s display also brings in a new set of technologies such as the support for HDR10 for solid life-like colors.
The display itself is 6-inches in size and the panel comprises a Super LCD6 screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen resolution offered here is 1440 x 2280. HTC also brings in the Edge Sense panel that allows users to squeeze for activating different applications or features by simply squeezing the panel. On the rear side lies the dual-lens camera, featuring a 12MP UltraPixel sensor and a 16MP shooter. The main camera sensor packs an f1.8 aperture lens with the support of OIS for reducing shakes and fast autofocus with phase and laser detection.
The camera is also upgraded with 4K video recording at 60fps, something that only a few of the flagship smartphones were capable of. However, users can record 1080p videos up to 240 fps. The device also comes with the dual-lens camera on the front as well with two 8MP selfie snappers. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB of RAM. The software included here is Android 8.0 Oreo and it appears that HTC had promised an update to the next Android P OS. Storage options include 64GB or 128GB with MicroSD expansion, however, we aren’t sure of which model will hit the UAE shelves. While the smartphone features wireless charging, the battery capacity is 3930 mAh. Other features include stereo speakers and support for hi-res audio via its USB Type-C port. The fingerprint scanner is located on the back of the device.
There is no mention on when the new HTC U12+ will reach the UAE. However, the smartphone is available for pre-orders in Europe for 799 Euros (Approx. AED 3499) for the 64GB model. And looking at the past, there is a good chance that HTC might just launch either the 64GB model or the 128GB for the MENA region, and we think that it’s the latter one.
UPDATE: The HTC U12+ is available for preorders on the HTC MEA website for AED 3449, in Translucent Blue, Ceramic Black, and Flame Red colors. However, it still does not specify if this is the 64GB or the 128GB version. We will let you know once the official word is out.
