Xiaomi has officially unwrapped their latest generation of the Android One devices called the Xiaomi Mi A2 and the Xiaomi A2 Lite smartphones and is the direct successor of last year’s Xiaomi Mi A1.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 with 85% NTSC color and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The display is also protected with Gorilla Glass 5 from scratches and accidental bumps. While the Mi A2 has almost the same level of dimensions as the previous model, the screen estate is about 12% more, thanks to its larger aspect ratio and lesser bezels. The front camera is a 20MP selfie snapper with improved light sensitivity. The camera also features AI capability and HDR effects. The rear camera comes with a dual-lens configuration, consisting of the same 20MP sensor with an aperture of f1.75 and a 12MP shooter. However, these lenses are not especially based on telephoto or wide-angle capability as other dual-lens smartphones do.
That said, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is powered by the Snapdragon 660 with 4GB RAM for the base model and 6GB RAM with the higher storage model. These models are of 64GB and 128GB storage options. The battery of the Xiaomi Mi A2 packs a capacity of 3000 mAh. When it’s about the second model, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor and the display size is 5.84 with 1080p+ of screen resolution. The smartphones to be similar in style with a notch like the Apple iPhone X. This makes the display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. That said, the battery of the gets an upgrade to 4000 mAh that offers six hours of gaming or about 34 hours of music playback. The front camera on the notch is 5MP and the rear camera comprises of a dual-lens setup, consisting of a 12MP sensor as the primary camera along with a 5MP shooter. The Mi A2 Lite will come with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB of internal storage, along with a dedicated slot for MicroSD card expansion.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite is said to cost about 180 Euros (Approx. AED 770) for the 32GB model and 230 Euros (Approx. AED 988) for the 64GB model. The Xiaomi Mi A2 with 4GB RAM/32GB storage will cost 250 Euros (Approx. AED 1074)., the 4GB RAM/64GB storage for 280 Euros (Approx. AED 1200) and the 6GB RAM/128GB storage for 350 Euros (Approx. AED 1500). The Xiaomi Mi A2 will soon be available in the UAE.
