Luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer in collaboration with software giant Google, and leading chipmaker Intel has officially launched the world’s first luxury class Android Wear smartwatch called the Connected. The new device carries a hefty $1500 price tag.
As specs go, the Connected holds a 1.5-inch circular LTPS transflective that helps to see even under direct sunlight. The display is protected by sapphire crystal. While most of the Android Wear devices are powered by Qualcomm processors, the TAG Heuer Connected sports a dual core Intel processor. Furthermore, the watch comes with 1GB RAM which is the highest among all Android Wear devices. The luxury watch also holds 4GB internal storage, and a 410 mAh battery.
Other features include a gyroscope, microphone, tilt sensor, a new haptic engine, Bluetooth LE 4.1, and WiFi b/g/n. The good news is that the watch is compatible with Android 4.3 and above, and IOS 8.2 and above. The watch also offers directional wind and weather monitoring, and IP67 dust and water resistance. There isn’t any word regarding its Middle Eastern availability and local pricing.
