Apple unveils the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus

At an ambitious Apple event, the California based company has officially raised the curtains for a seriesof products that includes the next generation of their Smartphones called the Apple iPhone 6S, and thebigger Apple iPhone 6S Plus. Both come with faster and upgraded software, along with new interaction methods.

The Apple iPhone 6S, and the Apple iPhone 6S Plus have a new feature called the “3D Touch”, whichallows users to do more according to the pressure applied to the device. For example, one can presshold a message, and the message pops up as a preview. Press harder, and the message interfaceexpands to full screen size. The 3D touch also gives users access to different on-spot shortcuts andoptions. And every press is followed by a tactile feedback, thanks to a new “Taptic Engine”.

Apple has upgraded both the new iPhones with a faster Apple A9 processor that’s 70% faster than theprevious generation found in the iPhone 6. The M9 co-processor helps to take care of smaller tasks. Thecamera department has been upgraded as well. The new iPhones now sport a 12MP OIS image sensoron the rear, tagged with a 5MP front facing camera. Now, the new iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus canrecord 4K video as well.

Apple has also included a new feature called Live Photos that works with the 3D Touch feature. Theframes before and after the user captured the image is also recorded- making it look like a video. TheLive Photos feature allows sound to be integrated along with the photo to make it look ‘alive’. The newdevices will run on the upcoming IOS 9 OS.


Apple claims that the new second generation Touch ID fingerprint reader is twice as fast as the previousversion. Apple also mentioned that the new iPhones are stronger than their previous generation.However, the iPhone 6S, and the iPhone 6S Plus retain the same 4.7-inch 1080p, and 5.5-inch Retina IPSdisplay, respectively. The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus will come with 16GB, 64GB, and 128GBstorage capacities. Middle Eastern availability and pricing is yet to be confirmed.
