Xiaomi loyalists now have plenty to cheer about, as the China-based company’s muh-expected Mi flagship has finally got a confirmed release date.

The Mi 5 will be launched, officially, during an event scheduled to be held on 24 February. According to the official MIUI blog, Xiaomi fans having purchased tickets to attend the 24 February event get to stand a chance at winning surprise gifts as well as getting to buy the Mi 5 on increased priority.

However, not much is known about the Mi 5’s key hardware aspects, but according to rumour mills, loyalists can expect the handset to incorporate technical specs such as:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC
  • 5.2-inch display
  • Android 6.0 operating platform, out of the box, with MIUI 7 on top
  • 16 MP primary camera
  • 8 MP secondary camera
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32/64 GB internal storage

Information regarding the pricing of Xiaomi’s Mi 5 is yet to surface at this point in time. These aspects will be made official only after 24 February. Loyalists can expect a comparatively high price-tag considering the fact that the Mi 5 is highly expected to incorporate (officially) high-end key hardware specifications.
