No longer will you be limited to Samsung branded smartphones and tablets when it comes to split screen multitasking. It happens so that Google has surprisingly announced the Android N as the next iteration of its mobile operating system. Google has already released ROM images of Android N for its Nexus devices such as Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Pixel C tablet. Please be noted that there aren’t any images for Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 tablets.

Google says that developers will get the chance to download and install the images directly via OTA. However, other users will need to manually flash the ROM. Some notable features are the split screen window, improved Doze functionality, data saver, and some user interface enhancements. Google has yet to fill the Android “N” with a name.
