OR launches Android One based Infinix Hot2 smartphone

Almost a year ago, Google launched an initiative called the Android One that’s targeted at budget users. The aim was to provide users with smartphones that run on the latest stock Android OS, and with decent hardware sold at an affordable price. And since Google is involved, these smartphones will get the latest software updates as its Nexus devices.

Google initially partnered with India’s leading local smartphone makers such as Micromax, Karbonn and Spice to sell the first Android One smartphones. Later, Google expanded to other Asian countries as well, partnering with other companies. Now, UAE gets their first Android One smartphone called the Infinix Hot2 Dual SIM.

Priced at just 299 AED, and exclusively available at, the budget device boasts a decent 1.3 GHz quad core processor, with 2GB RAM that’s sufficient for decent multitasking. The Hot2 runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. The screen is 5-inches in size, with 720p resolution. And the 2200 mAh battery should be enough for a whole day of use. With regards to mobile photography, the smartphone has an 8MP main camera, along with a 2MP front selfie snapper.
