A smart device is soon on its way to give a tough competition to the much-talked about Amazon Echo. Its Google Home- "a voice-activated home product that allows you and your family to get answers from Google, stream music, and manage everyday tasks". Known as the Google Assistant, this brilliant virtual assistant tool was recently unveiled at the annual Google I/O developer conference in Mountain View, CA.
Referred as the new age personal assistant, the Google Home is a wonder invention. During the event, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said, “Think of the assistant, we think of it as a conversational assistant, we want users to have an ongoing two-way dialog". The Assistant is a cylindrical device, with a white top and a speaker base. It aims to serve as an entertainment hub in your home, by managing other speakers and TVs via Google Cast.
The Google Assistant also plays a role in a new chat app called Allo, in which it can make suggestions based on what the user is talking about with their friends. Mario Queiroz, Google's vice president of product management, said "Home is where lots of daily tasks just need to get done. Access to the Google Assistant makes this a lot easier. It's like having a voice-activated remote control to the real world whenever you need it". The Google Home speaker will give a tough competition to the Amazon Echo, after it goes on sale later this year. Check out the demo bellow:
