The Google LG Nexus 5X goes official

Google Inc. has officially announced their next iteration of the Nexus series smartphones dubbed the LG Nexus 5X. It’s the long awaited successor to the original LG Nexus 5 that was launched almost two years ago. While there aren’t any details regarding official Middle Eastern availability, the Nexus 5X will sell for 379 USD for the 16GB variant, and the bigger 32GB for 429 USD.

The Google Nexus 5X is LG’s second entry into the Nexus portfolio. The device now features a 5.2’inch IPS screen and 1080p resolution. As expected, the Nexus 5X is powered by the Snapdragon 808 processor, paired with 2GB RAM. Google will include the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Google has also featured the Nexus 5X with a new 12.3MP Sony camera sensor that can capture more light. The F2.0 lens will bring in more sharp details. Google says that the Nexus 5X is capable of 4K recording. The front camera is backed by a 5MP sensor.

For security, the Nexus 5X holds the new fingerprint sensor dubbed the Nexus imprint that can let users unlock the device with just one tap. The battery is now 2700mAh. The Google Nexus 5X now features the MicroUSB Type-C.
